Souties

On my way home from my Mom & Dads, I thought I would stop by this shop that has been open for a little while. It had a some food and candies from South Africa. He (John the owner & very sweet guy) was nice enough to explain what a couple of the foods were and more on the rock and wood carvings of animals and tell about some of the tribes that carved the pieces.
It was really a refreshing visit. John was a very humble older guy that sounded like he was from England or I guess South Africa. Very pleasant Man. Nice to meet a nice person. He also let me try some of the Biltong..like beef jerky. It wasn't bad. But I wasn't feeling well already so when he gave me a small piece to try, my stomach just growled at me. I took it with a smile and its wasn't bad! I couldn't finish eating it and spit it out while he was turned and gave it to Bear later. LOL. Nice to meet a nice person.
There is an Ostridge egg there that has giraffe carving in the egg and elephant carvings. I think I will suggest it for my Birthday...from Matt of course. It is a bit Pricey. Or I may just get it for my self for my birthday. I loved them. Of course I can only get one. But it was such a gigantic egg that someone carved these decorations in ever so carefully. Loved it. want it. Gotta have it. :)
Those two pics above "Evelyin & Boniswa" Hand made those cards. If you click on them and it enlarges the pic take a close look. Boniswa burnt paper in the back ground Feathers for her hair, beads glued on, a leaf w/ a tiny flower as the earring. That is the one "Boniswa's". These were made to help support her & others that are unemployed single moms & those who face pregnancy & HIV/AIDs related crises. They were 4.50 + the tax man. Those are worth going in and purchasing. Yea? The other card Made by Evelyin. SUPER amazing work. I love that one. just take a look so I don't need to explain. Each card comes with the woman who made its name on the back. I Bought them for my self though. I'm so selfish...I did think about who's birthdays are coming up and knowing they would really appreciate cards like these. OK enough of me. Poof.

Sounds like a neat store, and I'm glad I can comment now! I have to say though, the one thing that stuck out to me was the fact that your stomach wasn't feeling well...do you have news to share? :)
