Hike up to Silver Lake

Ok, so I have been wanting to hike up to Silver Lake with Matt since we have been Married! 4 years in 2 Days! Yay! Well we finally got up to the cabin to get the kayaks and decided to take a quick hike up the mountain. I have been asking Matt to go with me FoReVeR! So I was so excited to finally be there with him. Such a beautiful place. And I have memories from way back when there. I have great memories of hiking up there with my Dad and brother and sisters, Cousins and uncles & grandpa. It felt good to step back to a place where i had great memories! Thanks for getting us out and up there Dad! I hope to take my kids here in time.
These blue bells were so beautiful. I had just let Ben take bear the machine. He was on a mission to get to the top of that hill. He pulled you like a maniac. I was yelling at him to stop the whole time. I will say he got me half way up in no time. But it exhausted me so much I couldn't let him pull me like that any more so I let Ben have him and again like a bullet Bear was pulling Ben up the Mountain. Any ways I was so out of breath and finally noticing my surroundings and this is the only picture that turned out due to my heavy breathing and my uncontrollably shaking. I loved my surroundings the whole time. This walk way above was filled with Ferns in the grove of aspens. I walked pretty much the whole way by my self. Ben Was a head Matt, Ash and Jeff took a "Short cut" and I stuck to the trail and did just fine. The Family went to the cabin to enjoy the beautiful scenery and company for dinner. Glad to see them there. My good looking husband I saw only at this time. He finally caught up to me after being pulled by Bear and then he was gone again.
I love my Panoramic option on my camera. It is so fun to take 3 different shots and then have the camera sew them together and see what it looks like. The picture above of the grove of aspens i took with panoramic. If you click on the pic it is always better bigger. ;) Just a picture of part of the hike up the hill. I loved looking up and seeing how much closer I was getting. And I loved the granite mountains in the back ground.
This is where Ben and I met up at the register box. He signed the box for us and took bear and he was out there.
This pic should have been the first. Here we are at the bottom checking out the hike. They all thought they could make it there in 45 Min's. but they didn't know about the switch backs. they thought it was a straight shot. It took Ben I bet 45-50 Min's, Matt 1 hr and then me 1 hr 10 Min's and Jeff and Ash were about 10 Min's behind me. It was so nice to get to the top and enjoy how wonderful Mother nature is.
This of course is me in front of the water fall and ALMOST there to the top.
I Finally made it and I was SO excited I finally came to the top and looked over and saw 5 plus streams and little water falls. It was so cold though once we got to the top. after sweating it to the top and coming over to the snow and the cold air heading down the mountain we only stayed for about 5 Min's and started back down...Kinda sounds funny we were there only 5 Min's. But we saw what we went to see.
And last but not least us leaving the top reservoir heading down and we didn't get the kayaks. Imagine that;) Posted by Picasa

Hi Jamie! The Fam went up on sunday for dinner and Ben, Matt and his friends and I hiked it that night. It was like only an hour hour hike up. Ben and I ran the whole way back down. Loved it the whole way!
