The picture below shows a the only landmark of the state bank vault. The town was there only from 1903-1907. It was pretty neat to run across this while we were out in the middle of no where to give our legs a stretch.
The next morning on our way back to the hunting spot to get set up. It was around 5:00 and came across this truck that obviously crashed due to drunk driving. I was pretty nervous when Matt started walking up to the truck saying "Heelllooooo", that he would find someone hurt in the truck. But it was abandond. Phew...Hopefully everyone was alright and learned their lesson.
The Moon was full when we got to the river and it was such a beautiful morning.
Here is a pic once the sun started coming up and Matt was all set up and ready for those ducks to start flying in.
I was freezing the whole time. I didnt warm up until the sun had been up for a while. I think it will be one of the last times I go duck hunting while it is so cold out.
Bear is such a great bird dog. He loves retrieving them and ofcourse he wishes he could have his way with them. He is a natural.

Matt got all 7 ducks pretty quickly and had a great time shooting. He was ready to get out and do some pheasant hunting.
The water was so shallow and the wind had kicked up since we went down stream that is was a bit tougher to row back up stream against the wind. Matt decided to get out and walk the boat upstream about a mile to get to the truck. Took a lot less time and loved that he would pull us all the way back. Way to go Matt.
