Matt and I were really excited to get to Palisades and relax. Matt's FAVORITE place to trout fish.
The weather was perfect the whole time.
The scenery was just delightful to see.
Matt wanted his Dad to take him to Woodroad 5 in Island park. Grandpa Hamilton's favorite place to fish and of what I hear of...favorite place...period.
It weas a pretty good little hike. We first started our descend 300 feet down the mountain on a trail I swear wasn't there.
Got to the river and started walking along the cliff side up stream to the "spot". Enjoyed hearing the stories of Daves memories when he was younger and fishing this same spot with his Dad. He said it had been 40 years since he had been to this spot.
Dave is trying to remember the exact spot that he said his Dad wanted to be buried.
The spot Daves Dad has his picture taken with Grandpa Hamilton's same fishing rod and the same spot on the rock. We were recreating the famous photo of his Dad and Matt's Grandpa.

Matt waiting for Dave and I to catch up...we just got done busting brush getting back up the mountain. It was hot and no trail to follow...oh and I didn't mention being eaten alive by mosquitoes.
